I believe in the power of yoga and mindful living to change lives.

 

To me, yoga isn't about the shapes your body makes, but about moving through life in a way that is aligned with who you really are. That's why I'm less concerned with whether or not you can stick your foot behind your head and am more interested in practicing and teaching functional, sustainable movement and down-to-earth mindful meditation techniques you can use for the long haul.

I spent my first yoga class, as a 13-year-old freshman in high school who couldn't touch her toes, giggling with my girlfriends in the dimly lit weight room turned makeshift yoga studio. I was uncomfortable in my skin and it's safe to say the teachings didn't stick.  I am forever grateful to the teachers who, a decade later, helped show a stuck, scared version of me that breathing deeply has the power to turn any day around and that I am stronger and more adaptable than I ever knew.

I am drawn to teach because I know what it feels like to finally find your toes—and yourself—after years of grasping with no luck, and want to help empower others to connect with themselves in meaningful ways. My classes will challenge you in an accessible way and always feature intelligent and safe sequencing with a healthy dose of alignment cues. As a writer, I am a storyteller at heart, and I enjoy infusing observations, poetry, and music into my classes.
